Lauren Bonard is an artist, illustrator and crafter based in Normandy, France. Originally from Sydney, Australia, Lauren moved to London at the age of five. Here she completed her studies in fine art and enjoyed all the rich cultural life of the big city.
Since moving to France Lauren has embraced the comparatively quieter life of the fishing town Dieppe and enjoys walks along the beautiful coastal paths of Normandy.

"I have always loved making things, and was extremely lucky to have a very talented grandmother who shared all sorts of craft knowledge with me. Her patience helped me to develop my love of all things fiddly! She taught me to sew, knit, crochet and even to spin wool from a fleece".

Whilst living in London Lauren spent some time as a model maker and prop maker.

"It was so much fun to work on some really big projects with such skilled people and every day brought new challenges."

Lauren's work has gone through many developments, recently collaborating with Philomene Thirion to create her first children's book; Le Voyage d'Eole.
Soon to be followed by her second publication; La Chasse à L'ogre.

Coming up soon......

I am very excited to announce that my latest project, a collaboration with author Céline Ruquier will soon be ready to share with you.
This latest work is very close to my heart and I am very privileged to have worked alongside the wonderfully talented writer Céline Ruquier.
The work consists on a series of portraits, written and painted, which explores the connection we have with the natural world.
We interviewed a diverse and fascinating group of people from various backgrounds to try to uncover the memories, places, sensations that make us feel fully part of the world we live in. The project will culminate in an exhibition (as soon as covid restrictions allow) and the publication of another book!
